Nothing on this website is intended to be a promise to buy or provide any other services to the public.
All services and transactions are kept strictly confidential to protect the privacy and security of our clients.
We base our offered purchase price on a complex series of factors, and in no way do we guarantee the price we pay reflects the items final value, worth, or selling price. We always try to operate our business with honesty, integrity and fairness. Most of our business is word of mouth; satisfied customers tell their friends and family and that keeps us going!
You acknowledge by agreeing to sell your item(s) that you indemnify Ohio Coin and Antiques from all damages due to error or oversight. You further understand that Ohio Coin and Antiques makes no claim as to the final market price of any item(s) they purchase.
Any offer to buy is made in good faith, however, we may alter or retract any offer at any point prior to completion for any reason. Such reason may include, but are not limited to: new information regarding the condition, value, rarity, etc of the item(s); changing inventory needs; market changes.
We require valid government-issued ID for all purchased items. We keep all records secure and strictly confidential.
Pursuant to Ohio law, we keep accurate records of all purchases we make, including: identity of seller (name, address, phone number, driver’s license number, etc.); detailed list and description of all items and price paid; date and location of purchase.
We buy from the legal owner of the item(s) only. We do not buy items that are of unknown, disputed, or legally uncertain origin. This includes items that are in probate, under dispute due to divorce or family disagreement, or other complicated entanglements. By selling to us, you acknowledge the items are yours to sell. Should any dispute over legal ownership arise, we agree to return the item(s) and you agree to refund the purchase price to Ohio Coin and Antiques.
We cooperate with police investigations and provide our records when so compelled.
Your privacy is fully respected by Ohio Coin and Antiques. Unless we are legally compelled via means such as court orders, we keep all transactions totally confidential. This means we do not discuss any aspect of the transaction with anyone but you. It’s no body else’s business if you sell us something, what you sell us, or what we pay you!
Ohio Coin and Antiques is not a pawnbroker or consignment dealer. We do not offer loans or consignment. All items we buy are purchased free and clear with no additional terms, guarantees or promises.
Ohio Coin and Antiques is not a precious metals dealer. Any items containing precious metals such as, but not limited to: gold, silver or platinum, are purchased for artistic, antique, collectable or numismatic value.
Ohio Coin and Antiques is not affiliated with any of the licensing bodies for antique appraisals. There are no applicable federal or state licensing requirements for the appraisals we offer. Prior to engaging our services, it is the customer’s responsibility to verify that Ohio Coin and Antiques satisfies the requirements they need for an appraisal.
Ohio Coin and Antiques does not provide appraisal services for IRS purposes, or for probate proceedings.
All appraisals are our expert opinion of value based on market comparable research of the item; whether examined by Ohio Coin and Antiques or using description and images supplied by our customer. No further guarantee of authenticity, genuineness, attribution or authorship is represented.
Appraisals can be made for “fair Market value” or for “replacement value”. Current Fair Market Value is the price agreed on between a willing buyer and seller, neither being required to act, and both having reasonable knowledge of the facts. Replacement Value is the price in terms of money that would be required to replace the property in question with another of similar age, quality, origin, appearance, provenance and condition, within a reasonable length of time in an appropriate market.
Appraisals are not a guarantee of the ultimate selling price, nor are they an offer to buy. Selling price is affected by many factors at the point of sale and may be significantly different than the appraised value.
Ohio Coin and Antiques is not responsible for discrepancies between the stated value and actual value. Ohio Coin and Antiques is not liable for damages should appraised item be sold and later determined to be more valuable. For your protection, Ohio Coin and Antiques encourages you to use your own judgement and/or seek additional opinions prior to selling any item.
Arbitration. All claims and disputes arising under or relating to this Agreement are to be settled by binding arbitration in the state Ohio or another location mutually agreeable to the parties. An award of arbitration may be confirmed in a court of competent jurisdiction.
